JaJuan Malachi joins The Opp Hub with a rich background in media and journalism, having contributed to contemporary media outlets including: Blavity, Okayplayer, BET, The Knockturnal, PopSugar, 1202 Magazine, Galore Magazine, NBC News, NBC4NY, MSNBC, Fox News, ABC's Nightline, GMA Digital, and 20/20. JaJuan is a proud graduate of New York University, where he earned his B.A. in English & American Literature. After his undergraduate experience, he became a member of NBCUniversal's prestigious, highly competitive fellowship: The Page Program. JaJuan Malachi is the sole founder and CEO of The Black Journalist Collective, also known as simply “The BJC,” a project dedicated to promoting solidarity among contemporary Black storytellers. Due to the considerable lack of safe spaces present in the modern-day milieu for Black storytellers, The BJC was designed to bring us closer together. In May 2023, JaJuan Malachi completed his M.A. in Journalism at The Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism with a core concentration in Arts & Culture. A New York City native with roots in Bed-Stuy and Wakefield, nowadays JaJuan can be found around the Starrett City community finding exciting stories to share in the neighborhood and beyond.
